Paris on the way to being Europe's leading tech hub

Slaask is happy to be counting a lot of French people among its customers and we are planning to reinforce its development in the US as well as in Canada, England, Japan and France 🙂

And here’s some great news for our French customers and partners: Paris has become a really powerful tech startup ecosystem. It has never attracted so many investors and entrepreneurs before.

Studies show that France received more investment ($2.7 billion) than Germany last year ($2.1 billion).
In addition, the French Tech visa, announced by French President, Emmanuel Macron, will supposedly make it easier to start companies in France.

Investment in France exploded between 2015 and 2016, and grew faster than other challenger countries like Sweden, Spain, and the Netherlands. The growth might look surprising, but in fact there are lots of factors that explain why Paris has turned into a hot startup hub.

For example, BlaBlaCar, founded in 2006 by its President Frédéric Mazzella and CEO Nicolas Brusson, is now valued at $1.5 billion, turning its two founders into angel investors.

Entrepreneurship is now one of the most appealing career choices that French people may make, as the number of startups in France grows. Startups like Criteo or Vente Privee have now become more attractive than big private companies like Goldman Sachs.
